1892-S PCGS MS67+ CAC MORGAN DOLLAR “Featured on the cover of the RARE COIN MARKET REPORT”
From the number 2 ranked PCGS Morgan Dollar Registry Set, The Vanderbilt Collection. This 1892-S PCGS MS67+ CAC Morgan Dollar is the Queen of the Morgan Dollar series; the King of the regular issue or circulation strike being the 1893-S. This 1892-S is remarkably preserved and is an excellent example of greatness. With a smooth and full Prooflike obverse surface, it is a near perfect strike. The only discrepancy can be found on Liberty’s brow and is detectable only with magnification. This piece has an original yet beautiful golden hue where the luster reflects through, giving her an elegant and stunning look. The reverse is arguably more pristine than the obverse for it is flawless, displaying Prooflike surfaces and a boldly struck eagle. The reverse is draped with snowy mint frost that glistens in the light. The condition and quality of this piece is extremely uncommon. Of the more than one million pieces that were struck by the U.S. Mint, fewer than two hundred specimens exist in choice BU or higher condition. Only 10 coins exist in grades of MS66 or higher. This example is just shy from a MS68, making this 1892-S PCGS MS67+ CAC approved Morgan Dollar one of the top Morgan Dollars in existence. The current PCGS Population for the 1892-S graded MS67+ is 2 with 1 Finer. Please call for more details.
